Hope : Jesus

Titus 2:11-13, Matthew 1:18-25, Luke 2:1-7

‘Turn around and believe that the good news that we are loved is better than we ever dared hope, and that to believe in that good news, to live out of it and toward it, to be in love with that good news, is of all glad things in this world the gladdest thing of all. Amen, and come Lord Jesus.’

Unchanging

We started with waiting and we end in the same place.  Before that first Christmas the Israelites were waiting for a messiah. Now, this Christmas we wait for that same messiah to return.  As the book of Titus tells us this is our hope, the appearing of Jesus.  The person we hope in hasn’t changed, he is the same yesterday, today and forever.

So, on this day of celebration in which we glorify the birth of Jesus let us also give thanks for the hope we have.  The hope that there is grace, gospel and glory.  That these are for all time and as we feed on them we will produce fruit that brings a little bit of heaven here on earth.
