Psalm 22:1-31

Those agonising words from the cross! As Jesus lets out his final cry, He asks “Why have You forsaken Me?” In that shout was so much pain and anguish. Why have You forsaken Me? If you read these verses you will catch glimpses of the crucifixion scene in the Psalm written much earlier. It is a lament of someone who suffers and, again, reminds us that the cross is about God suffering with us and for us; experiencing the pain of the world and defeating it through love. The psalm also reminds us at the end that, even when we feel forsaken, God hears our cries.
